A naval incident between Pakistan and India took place in the Arabian Sea on September 15 2026 adding to the growing tensions between the two neighboring countries. According to Indias Ministry of External Affairs a Pakistani naval unit and an Indian Navy ship were involved in a collision in waters. Indian officials stated that the incident did not result in damage, to either vessel.
India then called in Pakistans Charge d'Affaires in New Delhi. Made a formal complaint. Indian officials described the actions of the naval unit as "unacceptable and unprofessional" and asked for more care from military ships at sea. India also mentioned the 1991 agreement between India and Pakistan about giving notice before exercises, movements and maneuvers.
Reports that named the ship as PNS Hunain said the ship was damaged while the Indian ship continued its mission. However information about how the crash happened is mostly from sources and a full response from the Pakistani government had not been shared when the story was published.
The event shows how important it is to talk be careful and follow rules especially between two countries that have nuclear weapons. More official comments from both sides could give information, about what occurred and the diplomatic effects.
